The Justin Blum Story - 2012 Fantasy Cup $10,000 Grand Prize Winner!
The week 17 skirmish between Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer brought good fortune to Justin Blum, winner of the 2012 Fantasy Cup Circuit 2. According to Justin, that skirmish was probably the defining moment that made him this year's grand prize winner because, as Justin noted, "it caused all the scores to be lower". The 41 year old auto mechanic remarked, "I don't think I would have won if it didn't happen."

Justin, who is a native of Albany, New York, has been playing Fantasy Cup for 7 years, and he's never been in the mix to the end as he was this year. Previously, his best finish was 75th in 2010. So, for Justin, the big cash prize that he earned this year made up for those years when skirmishes and clashes between drivers didn't work out in his favor.

Another key to Justin winning the contest and the $10,000 cash grand prize was likely his selection of a couple of drivers with lower salaries. Two of those were Sam Hornish and Marcus Ambrois. Justin also kept 5 of the same drivers, Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr., Clint Bowyer, Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne, throughout the entire contest. Finally, Justin says he paid close attention to practice and qualifying to get a feel for who would be good each week, and he stayed in touch with his clubhouse buddies who he credits for helping him make some good decisions during the contest.

Justin is obviously a big racing fan and when it comes to playing fantasy sports, his strategy is to focus all of his attention and efforts on Fantasy Cup. That strategy proved to be a winning strategy for Justin who can now claim the title "Fantasy Cup Champion"!
