The Michael Stock Story
2014 Tour Trade 1 $7,500 Grand Prize Winner!
Michael Stock has been knocking on the door for the last couple of years. His Chief Illini teams have been consistently among the top finishing teams, and in 2012 he finished second and fourth overall.

This year, however, everything went Michael's way at the Players Championship, and he finished first, second and third in Tour Trade 1, earning him $14,300.00 in total cash prizes. "I got lucky that my golfers finished as good as they did with Jim Furyk, Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, Jordan Spieth and Jimmy Walker finishing second through sixth at TPC," Michael remarked.

Michael played three entries in Tour Trade 1. All of his teams had the same rosters going into the final week, and all of them were tied for first overall. He had one purchase left on each team, so he decided to try three different golfers with the hope that one team would finish on top. His purchase of Martin Kaymer secured the top spot for his Chief Illini 1 team, and his purchase of Gary Woodland and John Senden enabled his other two teams to finish second and third overall.

The 38 year old project construction manager from the Los Angeles area has been playing CDM games since his college days, over 15 years ago. When asked about his favorite CDM fantasy sports game, Michael said, "I really like them all!" "There are different aspects of each game that I like, so there's not really one I prefer over the others."

When asked about his fantasy golf strategy, Michael shared that he tries to look ahead at the coming tournaments and doesn't use a purchase unless it's for someone that he can roster for the rest of the contest. He added that he pays close attention to how well the golfer has been playing.

Golfers who were keys to his victory, in addition to those who finished so well at TPC, included Bubba Watson, Matt Kuchar, Patrick Reed, Matt Every and Jason Day. "I try to look for value in some of the mid and low-range golfers," Michael explained. "You need to have good balance and some good value players from the middle of the pack."

Michael plans to use some of his winnings for a family vacation to Ireland and England, and he plans to play some of the famous golf courses in those countries. And, he plans to make a run at the Golf Super Challenge, while playing multiple Tour Trade 2 teams and hoping that they can earn him another overall victory and a spot in the CDM Hall Of Fame.
