The Donnie Tropiano Story
2015 Tour Trade 1 Grand Prize Winner!
Donnie Tropiano Becomes First 3 Time Grand Prize Winner!

Having already won two overall Tour Trade Golf championships, Donnie Tropiano was poised for the TPC, the last week of Tour Trade 1. He had been trailing all year, but managed to have a $100,000 lead going into the last tournament, in part by using his last purchase on Danny Willett. "I was happy the teams close to me did not have Garcia or Kinzner, and combined with the Ricky Fowler victory, I won by over a million" Tropiano stated.

Tropiano's strategy is to be a bit of a gambler. "When you're behind, you have to take some long shots" he stated. His purchase of Padraig Harrington in week 5 was one of the keys to getting back in the game, and his Phil Michelson purchase earned his team almost a million. "Those 3 (Willett, Harrington & Michelson) purchases earned my team over $2 million" he recalled, "which was what I needed to be able to win."

Another part of his strategy is to find some low priced golfers who contribute so he can play some of the higher priced golfers. His choices of Justin Thomas, Martin Laird, Brooks Koepka and Jamie Donaldson all helped. But not all his choices were good ones. "I wish I wouldn't have dropped Hideki Matsuyama", that was a mistake he exclaimed. Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson, J.B. Holmes, Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose all earned over $2 million for his team.

The 64 year old retired state engineer from the Cleveland Ohio area has been playing Tour Trade over 15 years, and is an avid golfer himself. "I've always enjoyed following the pro golfers", Danny said, "and I'm honored to be CDM's first three time overall winner!"
